Visa-exempt participants (and existing visa holders) pay a $500 deposit per person to hold their spot and lock the rate, then the balance by the payment deadline. Deposit is fully refundable within 7 days of payment (minus transaction fees).
No deposit for participants who need a visa (for example, most Indian passport holders): apply before the Early Bird deadline to lock the rate, get your visa approved, then make one full payment. You pay nothing until your visa is in hand.

Cancel by your cohort's deadline (Oct 10 for November; Nov 10 for December) for a 50% refund on amounts paid beyond any deposit. No refunds after the deadline.

Which cohort should we pick?
All four run the identical program at the identical price — pick the window that fits your school calendar. Nov 11–14 lands right after India's November festive break. Dec 2–5 and Dec 9–12 fit Singapore, Malaysia, and Australian year-end holidays. Dec 27–30 is the Christmas–New Year week, popular with families from India and everywhere else.
How is the trek structured?
Arrive on Day 0 and join the evening welcome dinner plus a briefing lecture on China's tech landscape and the companies you'll visit. Days 1–3 are full visit days. You stay 4 nights in total, departing the morning after Day 3's farewell dinner.
Is a 4-night trek really enough?
By design. The briefing-first format means zero orientation drag — every visit day is dense with signal. It fits inside a school holiday, costs less than a week-long program, and leaves your family wanting more rather than exhausted. Families who want to extend can add their own days in China before or after.
What exactly will we visit?
Visits are drawn from frontier tech themes: robotics & humanoids, autonomous driving, smart manufacturing, and consumer tech. Each cohort's final lineup is confirmed before departure — access depends on company availability, and any substitution is of equal or greater value.
What happens on the free evenings?
Day 1 and Day 2 evenings (including dinner) are yours to explore Beijing — night markets, robot restaurants, tech-spotting walks. We share our favorite recommendations with every cohort.
Is Mandarin ability required or recommended?
No. Mandarin proficiency is neither required nor recommended. All core programming will be in English communication, or bilingual and interpreted as needed.
Do participants need a Chinese visa?
Each participant needs a valid passport and should confirm their own visa requirements — many nationalities currently enjoy visa-free entry or transit to China for short stays. If you need a tourist (L) visa, applications open about 3 months before departure: from Aug 11 for the November cohort, and from Sept 2 / 9 / 27 for the December cohorts. Do I need to pay before my China visa is approved?
No. Participants who require a China visa do not need to pay any deposit or program fee before their visa is approved. Once your visa is approved, simply complete the full payment to confirm your registration.
Do you recommend carrying translation devices?
It is up to you. There are quite many translation devices available for real-time translation, including earbuds, headsets, glasses, and watches. Some notable brand options include Anker Soundcore, Timekettle, and iTourTranslator. Please note that these are friendly suggestions only. We do not endorse any specific brand or model and assume no liability for any issues regarding these devices.
Can we get vegetarian food in China?
Yes, vegetarian food is readily available in China. Vegetarians can typically enjoy Chinese vegetarian dishes if they confirm the absence of pork ingredients with waiters or chefs in most Chinese restaurants. In addition, in major cities like Beijing and Shanghai, dedicated vegan restaurants and Indian restaurants are also available.
What age range is this designed for?
Ages 10–18 at the time of the program, traveling with a parent or chaperone. Built for middle and high schoolers who are genuinely curious about technology — no prior technical background required.
Are chaperones required?
Yes — every minor participant must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult chaperone for the full duration of the program. One adult can accompany up to three minors. Chaperones participate in all program activities alongside the kids.
Why is the price the same for adults and kids?
Everyone on the trek gets the same experience — the same visits, meals, hotel, and guides — so everyone pays the same flat rate: $1,999 Early Bird or $2,599 Standard, in every cohort. It also makes family budgeting simple: multiply by your headcount, done.
What are the key payment deadlines?
Nov 11 cohort: Early Bird ends Sept 10, full payment due Sept 30. Dec cohorts: Early Bird ends Oct 10, full payment due Oct 30. Visa-exempt participants hold their spot with a $500 deposit; participants who need a China visa pay nothing until their visa is approved, then pay in full. No payment is collected through the form — we invoice you.
What is the refund policy?

Is travel insurance required?
Yes — comprehensive travel, medical, and medical evacuation coverage is required for all participants. This is your responsibility to arrange before departure. We strongly recommend purchasing it as soon as you register.
